PhoneGnome 2.0 Goes Live

It’s here: PhoneGnome (TM) to Open Free Calling to Millions of Phones Worldwide

This is the most comprehensive update of the PhoneGnome service since its initial launch in 2005. It’s so big, we’re calling it PhoneGnome 2.0. Sure there’s a new look to the PhoneGnome website — but this is a lot more than a face lift.

Now everyone you know can become a member of the PhoneGnome community FREE OF CHARGE. By simply setting up an account on My.PhoneGnome, anyone can be in your free calling circle. There is no hardware or downloads needed. Once they setup an account on My.PhoneGnome, all calls to other PhoneGnome owners/members are free. To make a free call, one signs on to their My.PhoneGnome site and clicks the PhoneGnome number they want to call from their contact list. When their phone rings, they just pick it up and they are connected, free! — Just for being a member of the PhoneGnome community. With the holidays approaching quickly, what better way to connect with the people close to you, for free Set up accounts for your mobile phone or second home line and save even more.

The three most common objections we’ve heard with the original PhoneGnome were:

  1. $119 is a lot of money
  2. You need two
  3. It only works with landlines, requires broadband, and I need to install a box

We still feel that the original PhoneGnome was an excellent value, but now the new PhoneGnome 2.0 removes all the above obstacles too, making it even better:

  1. New low price $99.99 for the PhoneGnome box, with a Limited time offer of just $59.99. What’s more, you don’t need the PhoneGnome box at all. You don’t need to purchase anything or install any software to enjoy Free calls and other benefits of PhoneGnome service with PhoneGnome 2.0. And our new Bring Your Own Device and open SIP credentials options let you use an ATA you already have or the SIP soft-phone of your choice, free.
  2. It has never really been true that you needed two PhoneGnome boxes, because you could always use PhoneGnome with a calling plan to call any number cheap (which is exactly what at least half the PhoneGnome customers do), but the perception was there. To make free calls, both parties must be registered at the My PhoneGnome site, but given that neither must purchase anything to do so, I think we can safely say the “you need two” objection is a non-issue with PhoneGnome 2.0. And of course, since we’re open-standards compliant, unlike closed, proprietary systems, one can also use PhoneGnome to communicate with millions of other VoIP users on other services, free of charge.
  3. Finally, perhaps one of the most exciting things about PhoneGnome 2.0 is that now you can create a My PhoneGnome account for all your numbers, so you can call them free too, including mobile numbers, and locations with no broadband Internet access.

Like we said, PhoneGnome 2.0 is a lot more than a face lift.

  1. Skype for business, no thanks at Roam4free Says:

[...] I would never use Skype in my day to day business its just too unreliable and plus if I need to do business I don’t give a fiddlers regarding the cost, its a business call. I use jajah on a daily basis if I am traveling, I use Phonegnome (congratulations on phonegnome 2 David) from my residence and I dial into my own switch from my office, whilst the third isn’t an option for everyone there are plenty of other options. Skype isn’t a business tool its a chat tool with voice being used as an add on not a service.
